the oppo seem v strong right. But alot of ppl will still vote PAP. Why, they scared right? But do you know tat those walkover PAP elite will not do anything at all in govt but head bow low low to whatever the PM or MM or whatever M say.
So might as well vote in someone who dares to stand up against their nonsense.
Any for those who think that oppo cannot talk with other MP of ang mo country. You think you voting for minister ah, you voting for your mp only leh.
You want to have full PAP govt meh?

  17. forward the pictures to your family, relatives, friends and anyone that has the 'precious' chance to vote. there is a silent majority who is still ignorant and fearful.

tell people about the op rallies...get them to listen before they vote.
    today is the last night.

to those at st, zaobao, cna and other so-called 'responsible press', take some time to ponder over this piece from corinne may -

"We are all hanging by a thread...
    Fragile...

I've played for many funerals over the course
of my years as a church pianist.
And I'm always struck by the things people remember
    in the person being eulogised.
No one ever talks about the person's brand of clothes,
or car, or the type of make-up she/he wore.
Instead, most people focus on the stuff that endures...
people remember the kind deeds the person did for them...
the way they made them laugh...
the little quirks and idiosyncracies that made that person unique...

In the end, it's never about how big a house one built, or
    how much money one made...
but it's about the friendships one cultivated...
the love one had for people...
it's about social currency, about the currency of the heart...
    not the currency of finance."

with the mighty pen you have in your hand, spend some thoughts on how you will affect and influence the commoners.

  20. Would you vote for…

    1. A man who cheats on his wife?
    2. A handicap?
    3. A man with health problems which he did not reveal?
    4. A man with little formal education?
    5. A man who has manic depression?
    6. An alcoholic?
    7. An average student?
    8. A divorcee?

If you said no to any one of those questions you would’ve rejected…

    1. Franklin D Roosevelt and John F Kennedy (rumoured)
    2. Franklin D Roosevelt
    3. John F Kennedy
    4. Abraham Lincoln
    5. Abraham Lincoln
    6. Winston Churchill
    7. Ronald Reagan
    8. Ronald Reagan

Amazing... but Singaporeans are such fault-finders, they really might have not accept these great leaders. Just a good comparison.

  21. Deep in my heart, I hope WP will win but still think most citizens will "chicken out" and the winners are still PAP.

  23. PAP represents the so-called top 1% elite.

Let WP represent the 99% peasant class!

    ReplyDelete
  24. WP is not Wayang Party; WP is WELFARE Party!!!

Really hope they could win a GRC...All The Best!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Let's hope the voter's turnout translate into votes for the non-PAP candidate.

  31. after so many days talking about Gomes, now LSL then wanna say that the GE is about SGP future??? abit too late lah...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Come on Singaporeans, give WP a chance. If they screw up you can always vote them out at the next election. PAP has done a good job when the economic environment is predcitable. But what I'm seeing now is a party that does not even have a game plan for campaigning. Gomez issue come up, then they talk about Gomez for 5 days. What rubbish is this? Can you trust PAP to handle bigger internnational issues in this unpredictable global environment without any debate in parliament? You have a choice. Vote wisely

  34. Sonny boy Lee cover backside oredi!

Channel News Asia, 05 May 2006 1112 hrs:

"SINGAPORE : The press secretary to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has clarified remarks made by Mr Lee at the lunchtime rally on Wednesday.

During the speech, the Prime Minister had addressed the issue of
    opposition MPs in Parliament.

Mr Lee had said that if the opposition were to hold 10 to 20 seats in
Parliament, he would have to spend much more time thinking what was the
    right way to "fix" them.

Explaining Mr Lee's remark, his press secretary said Mr Lee had meant to say that if there were many more opposition MPs in Parliament, the
government and opposition would spend all their time and energies countering each other, and Singapore would be worse off for it. "

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am very confused now, just i heard that WP boss had just learned his english after he is in parliament, now I hear that the word "fix" is of different interpretation. I think something is terribly wrong. Ha ha ha seow liew. If you try to "fix" him up I think he will "fix" you in court.

    ReplyDelete
  36. If only the ppl would support the WP all the way and not back out at the last min. That will be so disappointing.Wah lau my grc always walkover...too bad no chance to vote. Got more opposition in parliament might not be a bad thing. At least more ppl's voice leh.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No. 47!!! I hope we get more opposition MPs! What for get PAP MP they canot speakd for us? Even casino issue gahmen say shut up they shut up!

  40. Sad fact is, large turnout at opposition rallies in the past didn't translate into votes, because the so-called "silent majority" who voted for PAP don't attend rallies; they are politically apathic, and on polling day, only go through the motion of casting their vote for what they think is the safest bet: the PAP.

By the way, there's already talk of Chiam See Tong losing Potong Pasir, so by Sunday, be glad if you still have an opposition in Parliament.

    I hope I'm wrong, I really do.

I've seen enough to think that the new crop of PAP candidates are out of touch with the man on the street; I've heard enough to know that the average Singaporean are fed up. But I've also seen enough elections to fear that despite all the ranting and raving, the PAP still gets voted back in.

Costs are rising; the job market remains uncertain (dear ministers, statistics say little about contract work and low-paying jobs that offer little in terms of social security), just to name a few of the myriad of problems the average man face in this "world-class" city. But what pains me most is to see the old folks begging out on streets these past few years -- more than I've seen in a decade!

So, for those who DO get to vote (unlike me, walkover as usual), and read this post, PLEASE show me that you still care enough to make a differnce.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, and something I forgot:

To Mr Chiam See Tong, win or lose, you'll always be my MP -- even though I've never lived in Potong Pasir in all my life. ;-)

  42. all the bad shit politics coming out of the woods now bcos election is drawing near. more fiery temper from both sides.

let see if got anyone got sue their pants off and become bankrupt or not eh?

always got someone got sued last time, to prevent a fair and competitive debate.

if u live overseas before, u know, there is a live television debate broadcast around the country between the opposition and gahmen. in Singapore, they are too scared to have a debate. Why? coz if have debate, gahmen jialat, got too many secrets expose already. the reasons behind strict electoral laws, ISA,
police licensed only rallies, gerrymandering to aggregate gahmen voters, strict censorship laws on political films.
